Calling all travellers and budding travel bloggers. Want to share your travel stories? Now is your chance, and for your troubles you will be in the running to win one of six amazing ecotourism experiences.
Organised by the ecotourism social network Mynatour, this first-ever ecotourism travel blog contest offers travellers the chance to share their travel experiences while promoting green travel and best practices in ecotourism. As you can imagine, we at EcoTraveller think is an ingenious way to spread the word about travelling greener (and are secretly spewing we didn’t think of the idea first!), so hope our readers will put pen to paper – or fingertip to keyboard – and share their stories.
The Only Footprint You Leave is Your Story
As travel comps go, this one is pretty special. To enter, although it is an ecotourism orientated contest and so ideally that’s what your entry should be about, it doesn’t have to be. You can recall any of your travel memories as long as you stipulate how you would change the experience to make it more ecofriendly or sustainable. What practices would you like to see changed, or since your holiday has anything changed for the better, eco-wise?
Entry Terms and Conditions
All entrants must join the Mynatour community to be able to take part in the contest, and entries can be up to 1,000 words. One main image is requested, and four smaller images are allowed to be included with the each story. There will also be a dedicated area within the blog where participants can evaluate the trip’s best ecotourism practices in 250 words.
There are a plethora of terms and conditions, so be sure to read them all carefully before you enter your story. Entries will be judged by members of the Mynatour community, via Facebook or through the Mynatour site, but you can get involved on Twitter and other popular social media platforms, too.
The top ten travel stories/blogs will then be reviewed by an expert panel of judges and three of the ten will win a holiday for two people, courtesy of WHL.travel, an off-the-beaten-track travel specialist.
