If you’re out and about in Melbourne city centre this weekend make sure you head over to Federation Square, where The Sustainable Living Festival’s Big Weekend Showcase will be held.
This annual event, which celebrates the very best examples of ecological and social sustainability, gathered a crowd of 122,000 visitors last year, a number they’re hoping to beat this year. The free Festival Big Weekend programme includes interactive workshops, talks, demonstrations, artworks, exhibitions, films and live performances.
The Sustainable Living Festival was first held at Australia’s infamous Hanging Rock in 1999, featuring exhibitors from as far a field as Austria and America. It was a groundbreaking opportunity for people to share information and knowledge about sustainable living, and played a large part in shaping today’s Sustainable Living Festival.
Festival Big Weekend runs from 18-20 February 2011, at Federation Square, Melbourne.
